Anna Champeney is an experienced, British-born professional weaver, woven textile designer and natural dyer. Textilesnaturales´ course questionnaires show that she is also highly rated as a weave teacher by her pupils.
In 2000 she moved with her Spanish partner to Galicia, north Spain, where she set up her textile production Anna Champeney Estudio Textil, and her teaching studio.
She combines her own textile work with teaching as guest tutor on the Fashion degree course at Vigo University and intensive teaching in weaving, woven textile design and natural dyeing from her studio.
If you speak lower-intermediate level Spanish why not join one of her group courses given in Spanish, given throughout the year? Be brave! Anna can also offer you language support in English during the course.
Or book some residential, intensive one-to-one tuition. 3-5 days gives you an intensive introduction to weaving on an 8-shaft loom, allowing you to weave your own hand-made fabrics for the first time. If we have looms all ready prepared you can also come for just a day´s tuition – to try out a loom for the first time or have a crash course in Spanish loop-pile weaving or double-weave.
